As an example - this 50's original bathroom, while attractive in a "retro" style, was cramped and did not have a shower. The room was transformed into a beautiful relaxing area with a spa tub recessed into a private alcove. This project was designed and built by G.L. Hornback Construction, including the custom built Cabinet.

This original bathroom had to have a very narrow countertop and small sink due to the poor use of space. The tub had a wainscot of tile, but it wasn't high enough to accommodate a shower, nor was there an elegant way to hang a shower curtain. In order to enlarge the bathroom, we made use of an existing closet in the room beyond - since the clients were also planning a master bedroom addition. We turned the closet into a recessed spa tub/shower alcove, giving a sense of privacy. The existing tub area was then used to build a larger vanity and countertop area, incorporating a "lazy susan" in the corner of the vanity cabinet to maximize the storage space. To give the room a feeling of extra height, we used a coved ceiling detail with a "sky & clouds" faux finish.
